Shahid Afridi is the chief selector of Pakistan
The Pakistan Cricket Board’s management committee has appointed former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi as the interim chief selector of the national team. Afridi will handle the important responsibility in the home series against New Zealand.
The remaining members of the selection panel are – Abdul Razzak, Rao Iftikhar Anjum. Harun Rashid, member of the management committee, will be the convener. PCB’s new chairman Najam Shetty said, ‘I welcome the interim selection committee of the national team.
I have no doubt that even in this limited time they will take bold decisions. Which will help us build a strong and competitive team against New Zealand.”
Shahid Afridi was an aggressive cricketer who played cricket without fear. He has 20 years of cricket experience. He has been successful in participating in all formats, helping youngsters. In our opinion, there is no one better than him in modern cricket.
I am confident about him. He will select the best cricketers and help the team to achieve success.’ I will give my best to fulfill my duties.”
