Pakistan vs Afghanistan, Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 – Highlights

What an Asia Cup 2022 match tonight in Sharjah. After losing their top three players, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman, in the first 50 runs of their modest 130-run chase, Pakistan was never in the game. However, Pakistan was rescued by Shadab Khan (36) and Iftikar Ahmed (30), who put on a 42-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Pakistan lost their next six wickets for 31 runs, but Afghanistan recovered with consistent wickets. Afghanistan was heavily favored to win the match with 11 required in the last over, but Naseem Shah destroyed all expectations with back-to-back sixes in the first two balls of the final over from Fazalhaq Farooqi to seal a remarkable victory.

Due to Pakistan’s victory tonight, both India and Afghanistan have been declared ineligible for the competition. On Sunday, Pakistan will compete against Sri Lanka. Afghanistan had earlier posted 129/6 in 20 overs thanks in large part to the top score of Ibrahim Zadran. View the highlights of PAK vs. AFG.

Captains Speak

Babar Azam (PAK): The dressing room was stressful, to be perfectly honest. The team was entering and exiting the locker room. It was excellently finished by Naseem Shah. Mujeeb and Rashid Khan are two of the greatest bowlers in Sharjah, which consistently has low scoring. All we wanted to do was extend the game. I had faith in Naseem since I had previously saw him perform in this manner. I’m reminded of Javed Miandad’s six at this exact time.

Mohammad Nabi (AFG): Although the fielding and bowling were excellent, we didn’t finish properly and we lost our composure. At no point did we quit the game. The lads sparred on each ball. Once more, both with the bat and the ball, it was game over. In our opinion, we chased effectively against Bangladesh. We looked to bowl dot balls since we anticipated that chasing 130 would be difficult here.
